SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit e.V.'s Launch to Work: Africa, implemented in partnership with Industry Immersion Africa (iiAfrica)
Cape Town, South Africa | 15 May 2026
Industry Immersion Africa (iiAfrica) is pleased to announce the implementation of Launch to Work: Africa, a graduate employability program designed to support young African graduates in their transition from university into the world of work, a program of SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit e.V.
Launch to Work: Africa is being implemented by iiAfrica in the first year of the program and is designed to respond to the challenges faced by many young graduates who are facing economic challenges and who are underrepresented in similar opportunities when moving from higher education into employment. The program will provide participants with structured support to strengthen workplace readiness, build professional confidence, and improve access to early-career opportunities.
Through five weeks of intensive training, participants will develop practical competencies in areas such as digital agility and data literacy, corporate soft skills, career readiness, and professional communication. The program also includes support for internship placement and pathways to employment, with the aim of equipping graduates for meaningful and sustainable professional opportunities.
iiAfrica is honoured to serve as the implementing partner for Launch to Work: Africa and looks forward to working with SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit e.V. to deliver a program that contributes to improved graduate employability outcomes across Africa.
"We are grateful to SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit e.V. for trusting us with the implementation of Launch to Work: Africa. As implementing partner, iiAfrica is committed to delivering the program with quality, care, and a strong focus on meaningful outcomes." - Dr David Attipoe, CEO, iiAfrica
"SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit e.V. is pleased to kick off a key program within the Global Scholarship Program ecosystem — Launch to Work: Africa — and to work with iiAfrica in bringing this initiative to life. By investing in young graduates through targeted skills training and employment placement, the program not only strengthens their employability and professional development, but also expands access to educational opportunities. Implemented in partnership with iiAfrica, this initiative completes the education-to-employment continuum of the Global Scholarship Program, building a foundation for sustainable livelihoods and a brighter future for young people across Africa." - Rumbidzai Maunze, Head of Scholarships & Educational Development, SOS-Kinderdörfer weltweit e.V.
This partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting young people to build relevant skills, access practical opportunities, and pursue dignified and sustainable futures. By combining targeted program support with iiAfrica's implementation experience, Launch to Work: Africa seeks to provide a structured and relevant pathway from university into employment.
